WRC 2010 Rally Sweden
February 8, 2010
On February 11th, the World Rally Championship kicks off for 2010 with the snow filled 200 kph long Rally Sweden.
Rally Sweden 2010 will take place in Karlstad, but with a diversion from its course the last time it was here, with 85 kph rerouted north to a service park near Hagfors. Bettors should take note that old veterans at Rally Sweden have much less of an advantage over new talent this year, since all but two stages of years’ past have been changed, as have much of the tests and routes. Though, to be fair, many of the roads will still be familiar to old hats. But we said “less of an advantageâ€, not “no advantageâ€.
It’s always pretty safe to bet with the Scandinavian in an ice and snow contest. But 3 of the 5 previous ice and snow event winners of the World Rally Championship are also 3 overall World Rally champs, that being Loeb, Solberg, and Gronholm). So betting against any of them can be a risky move. Keep your eyes on the other two past ice and snow WRC winners Latvala and Hirvonen too.
The WRC offers a slew of betting opportunities over the next several months, with 13 events in all. Rally Sweden marks only event that will take place in the wintry snow. Fans and athletes alike are particularly excited about the 2010 Rally Sweden, as it was notably missing from the 2009 WRC schedule, with Norway taking its place as the site of the sole snow and ice part of the yearly World Rally Championship.
