Rugby Union Heinekin Cup
May 18, 2010
On May 22nd 2010, the Rugby Union Heineken Cup kicks off in France at the Stade de France. This year promises not to dissatisfy the fans of the intense sport. With 6 pools and 4 teams in each pool (24 teams total) it is anyone’s game to win the Heineken Cup.
The four favorite teams of the Heineken Cup are France’s Toulouse, Germany’s Munster, France’s Biarraitz, and Ireland’s Leinster. Biarraitz is after their first Heineken Cup win, which will not be easy to do as Biarraitz and Toulouse will be facing off in the all-French 15th annual match. This game is sure one to put onto your must see list.
Byron Kellher of the Toulouse team has been quoted as saying that it is “my goal to win the Heineken cup and it is not an individual dream but a team dream.” France’s Biarraitz is considered to be the under dogs of this year’s Heineken Cup, and that seems to suit the Biarraitz team just fine. Germany’s Munster and Ireland’s Leinster have both proven that they want, need, and deserve the cup. The Ospreys of Wales are also making a very strong effort for this years Heineken Cup, as are the Glasgow Warriors and the Cardiff Blues. Cardiff Blues have had a great year with their win against Munster early this month. Seeing Cardiff Blues and Munster have a rematch is another game that you are not going to want to miss. These two teams have been doing battle on the fields all year.
