Professional Arena Soccer League Playoffs and North American Championship In March
February 25, 2010
March is just around the corner, and with it comes the Professional Arena Soccer League Playoffs and the North American Championship game.
This is only the second year for the North American Championship, with the inaugural event last year won by the event’s hosts, the California Cougars from Stockton, California.
Currently, the team with the best record this season in the Eastern Division has been the Cincinnati Express (with 9-3). They also happen to be least year’s runners-up.
If you’re looking to place your bets with the favorites, then you’re looking at Cincinnati and San Diego, along with either Louisville (at 9-4) or California (at 10-4).
Three teams will be sent by the PASL-Pro to the Professional Area Soccer League Playoffs. Then Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League champs, along with La Raza de Guadelajara and Sidekicks del Estado de Mexico of the Liga Mexicana de Futbol Rapido.
The top 2 seeds based on winning percentage will advance automatically to the single elimination event semifinals.
The events will take place at the Del Mar Arena starting with the 5 playoff games, the first being Thursday, March 11th’s quarterfinals at 5 pm and 7:30 pm. Then on March 12, the semifinals will take place, again at 5 pm and 7:30 pm. And finally (pun completely intended) the finals will take place at 6:15 pm on March 13.
Before the events had been moved from their original site to the Del Mar Arena, there had been a March 6 game which has since been canceled
