FEI World Cup Dressage Final
March 23, 2010
For the 25th Anniversary of the FEI World Cup Dressage Final, there will be a total of fifteen riders across ten different nations competing. And last year’s the champion for the 2008-‘09 series, Steffen Peters from the US, is not going to be one of fifteen.
For the Western European League, the lineup is headed up by Dutch rider Adelinde Cornelissen who led the qualifying leg held recently in Gothenburg, Sweden. Her teammates include Alltech FEI European Championship gold medal teammates of Cornelissen’s, Imke Schellekens-Bartels and Edward Gal. Germany’s contribution to the team includes the trio of Isabell Werth, Carola Koppelman, and Alexander Rath. And the final spot on the Western European League team is Patrik Kittel of Sweden whose 2nd place finish just this past Saturday secured him his spot.
For the Central European League, the lineup will be headed by Michal Rapcewics of Poland, with Bretty Parbey of Australia by his side, having qualified via the Pacific League, with Luiza Tavares de Almeida of Brazil will fly the flag for the South America/Asia region. With Steffan Peters not on the roster, there is an extra spot open, making three instead of two, which have been filled by Jeroen Devroe of Belgium, Acs Robert of Hungary, and Nathalie Zu Sayn Wittgenstein of Denmark.
This year’s FEI World Cup Dressage favorite is Moorlands Totilas, the impressive black stallion with Edward Gal riding.
The FEI World Cup Dressage Final will take place in Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands from March 25 – 27, 2010
