ASP World Tour Surfing Championships

Here’s a fun one to bet on – surfing … The Association of Surfing World Tour surfing championships are coming up fast, giving you waves of betting opportunities to hop onto.

Only two events in this year’s competition have passed – the Quicksilver Pro off the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia on February 27 – March 10 which Taj Burrow won, and the Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach in Victoria, Australia on March 30 – April 10 which Kelly Slater won.

Still up on the 2010 ASP World Tour schedule are:

The Santa Catarina Pro at Santa Catarina in Brazil on April 23 – May 2
The Billabong Pro at Jeffreys Bay in South Africa on July 15 – 25
The Billabong Pro Teahupoo at Taiarapu in Tahiti on August 23 – September 3
The Hurley Pro at Trestles in California on September 12 – 21
The Quicksilver Pro France in the South West Coast of France on September 25 – October 5
The Rip Curl Pro in Peniche, Portugal on October 7 –18
The Rip Curl Search in Puerrto Rico on October 30 – November 10
The Billabong Pipe Masters at the Banzai Pipeline on Oahu, Hawaii on December 8 –20

Last year’s ASP World Tour champions are Mick Fanning of Australia for the second time in three years, and for the women Stephanie Gilmore of Australia for the third year running. Other top contenders are Kelly Slater of course, who is already making a fine showing this year. Kelly has won three of the last five ASP World Tour championship titles and between 1992 and 1998 won all but one year’s title. Andy Irons, who won the title in ’02, ’03, and ’04, could also rise to the top.
