2010 UEFA Champions League Final

March 30, 2010

The 2010 UEFA Champions League Final for Europe’s Champions League of Football is coming up, taking place Saturday, May 22. The event will take place in Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, the home stadium of Real Madrid, to date the most successful football club in the UEFA Champions League, and the site of three previous European World Cups, most recently in 1980 and before that in 1969 and 1957.

Barcelona seems to be a fan favorite with two of the top three most selected players on the official UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football site being teammates on the Barcelona Team, those being Messi (1) and Pique (3). Sandwiched between them is Fabregas of Arsenal.

Whichever team wins the 18th UEFA Champions League Final will next face-off against the winners of the 2010 UEFA Europa League Final (scheduled for May 12 at the HSH Nordbank Arena in Hamburg, Germany home of Hamburger SV) in the 2010 UEFA Super Cup (aka the Europa Super Cup (formerly known as the UEFA Cup), to be held in Monaco in August, for which the current champions are F.C. Barcelona of Spain and for which the winners will also be automatically qualified for either the 2010-2011 UEFA Europa League or (if applicable) the 2010 UEFA Champions League).

They will also be entered into the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates in December.

In related news, March 4 of the 2010 AFC Champions League is coming up on March 30 and 31.
